Hello !!

Is you make a logic reasoning in your mind. You have that the perimeter of a rectangle is give with this formula.

P = (x + x) + (y + y)

And you have that (x) is the length and (y) is the breadth. With it, we have.

P = (x + x) + (y + y)

288 = (80 + 80) + (y + y)

288 = 160 + (y + y)

288 = 160 + 2y

-160 - 2y = -288

-2y = -288 + 160

-2y = -128

y = (-128)/(-2)

y = 64 m

Therefore, we have the conclusion that the measure of the breadth is 64 m.

I hope I have collaborated !

Given ,

  • Length of rectangle = 80 m
  • Perimeter of rectangle = 288 m

We know that , the perimeter of an rectangle is given by

 \large \sf \fbox{Perimeter = 2(L + B) }

Substitute the known values , we get

288 = 2(80 + B)

144 = 80 + B

B = 144 - 80

B = 64 m

Hence , the breadth of a rectangle is 64 m
