Given:

  • Length of parallel sides of trapezium are 7cm and 10cm.
  • Perpendicular distance between them is 6cm

To find:

  • Area of trapezium?

Solution:

As given in question that, two parallel sides is 7cm and 10cm and perpendicular distance between them is 6cm.

According to find area of trapezium,

We know that :

  • \large{\boxed{\sf{Area\:of\: trapezium\:=\:\bigg(\dfrac{a+b}{2}\bigg)h}}}

Where,

  • a = 1st base
  • b = 2nd base
  • h = height

Let put given value in formula :

\large{\sf{Area\:of\: trapezium\:=\:\bigg(\dfrac{a+b}{2}\bigg)h}}

\implies\large{\sf{Area\:of\: trapezium\:=\: \bigg(\dfrac{7+10}{2}\bigg)×6}}

\implies\large{\sf{Area\:o\: trapezium\:=\: \dfrac{17}{2}×6}}

\implies\large{\sf{Area\:of\: trapezium\:=\: \dfrac{17}{\cancel{2}}×{\cancel{6}}}}

\implies\large{\sf{Area\:of\: trapezium\:=\: 17 × 3}}

\implies\large{\sf{Area\:of\: trapezium\:=\: 51}}

Therefore,

  • \large{\boxed{\sf{\green{Area\:of\: trapezium\:=\: 51cm²}}}}

To find :-

  • Area of trapezium

ㅤ‎ㅤ‎ㅤ‎ㅤ‎ㅤ‎

Formula :-

  • Area of trapezium

ㅤ‎ㅤ‎= 1/2 × (sum of parallel sides) × height

ㅤ‎ㅤ‎ㅤ‎ㅤ‎ㅤ‎

Solution :-

  • Area = 1/2 × ( 7 + 10) × 6

  • Area = 1/2 × 17 × 6

  • Area = 17 × 3

  • Area = 51 cm²
