Given

  • Height of trapezium = 5cm
  • Parallel sides of trapezium = 81/2cm and 6cm

Find out

  • Find the area of trapezium

Solution

As we know that

Area of trapezium

→ ½ × sum of parallel sides × height

→ ½ × (81/2 + 6) × 5

→ ½ × (81 + 12/2) × 5

→ ½ × 93/2 × 5

→ 465/4

→ 116.25 cm²

Hence, the area of trapezium is 116.25cm²

Additional Information

  • Area of rectangle = length × breadth
  • Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l + b)
  • Area of llgm = base × height
  • Area of rhombus = ½ × product of diagonals
  • Area of square = side × side
  • Perimeter of square = 4 × side
  • Area of circle = πr²
  • Circumference of circle = 2πr

Gɪᴠᴇɴ :-

  • Parallel sides (a and b) = 6cm and 81/2 = 40.5cm
  • Height (h) = 5cm

ᴛᴏ ғɪɴᴅ :-

  • Area of Trapezium

sᴏʟᴜᴛɪᴏɴ :-

We know that,

  • Area of Trapezium = ½ × (sum of parallel sides) × (Distance between them)

  • Area = ½ × (a + b) × (h)

Area = ½ × (6 + 40.5) × 5

Area = ½ × 46.5 × 5

Area = 232.5/2

Area = 116.25 cm²

Hence,

  • Area of Trapezium = 116.25 cm²
