If light is the quickest in the universe, how does the dark get to my room first?

Darkness is not a form of energy it is the absence of light, we can observe objects only and when light bounces back on an object to our eyes, darkness doesn't have a speed therefore occurs in the absence of light

Ex-When you switch of the lights in your room there is no light for the object to bounce back to your eyes hence we can't see anything
