Since line l is bisector of angle A .

:. /_OAP = /_OAQ

:. OP = OQ .................... 1

IN ∆ OAP AND ∆ OAQ

OP = OQ .........( FROM 1 )

Angle OPA = Angle OQA...........( EACH 90° )

OA = OA ........... ( COMMON )

.: ∆OAP is congruent to ∆ OAQ ........ ( R.H.S. TEST )

.: AP = AQ ........... ( C.P.C.T )

In ∆ OQA

BY PYTHAGORAS THEOREM

(OA)² = (OQ)²+(AQ)²

(5)² = (OQ)²+(4)²

25 = (OQ)² + 16

OQ² = 9

OQ = 3

Therefore OQ = 3 cm .

Hope it helps !!!!!!!!!!!
