If Lloyd turns the air conditioner of the Auditorium ON as the temperature of the room is 30 degrees Celsius and the a.c. brings the temperature down to 18 degree Celsius, does the decrease in temperature effect the speed of sound waves? Yes or No? If Yes, then in which medium temperature dependence is more noticeable - solid, liquid or gas?

Answer:

yes, the sound is affected due to change in temperature because the change in temperature makes the surrounding air lighter/heavier .

Most probably it is seen in gas because of intermolecular forece of attraction is weaker then the other two .
