If log 2=0.3010 and log 3 =0.4771 find the value of:
log 5 + log 8 - log √6

siddhartharao77: is it 1.21?
SmridhiBhadra: even i got the same answer. it might be correct
Anonymous: log 5 = log(10/2) = log 10 - log 2 = 1 - 0.3010 = 0.6990
log 8 = log 2^3 = 3 log 2 = 3 x 0.3010 = 0.9030
log root6 = 0.5 log 6 = 0.5(log 2 + log 3) = 0.5(0.3010+0.4771) = 0.38905
So answer = 0.6990 + 0.9030 - 0.38905 = 1.21295

Answer:

Using the given values for log 2 and log 3 results in

log 5 + log 8 - log √6 = 1.21295

Step-by-step explanation:

log 5 = log(10/2) = log 10 - log 2 = 1 - 0.3010 = 0.6990

log 8 = log 2³ = 3 log 2 = 3 x 0.3010 = 0.9030

log √6 = 0.5 log 6 = 0.5×(log 2 + log 3) = 0.5×(0.3010+0.4771) = 0.38905

So answer = 0.6990 + 0.9030 - 0.38905 = 1.21295
