y = y1 + y2/2

where y is the mid point

1 = a + a+4 / 2

2a + 4 = 2

2a = -2

a = -1

hope it helped you

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

if M is mid point of PQ

then coordinates of p

=[x₁+x₂/2   ,    y₁+y₂/2]           ..........................[midpoint formula]

then

[-1,1]=   [(-3+1)/2  ,  (a+a+4)/2]

[-1,1]  =  [ -2/2 , (2a+4)/2  ]

[-1,1]  = [ -1, (a+2 ) ]

on comparison

1 =[ a +2]

a + 2 = 1

a = -1 ans

hope it helps u

so plzz mark as brainliest

Syedhammad: but the value of a is -1
