Given,

If M and N are the mid points of the sides AB and AC of an isosceles triangle ABC.

MN ║ BC  is parallel.

Find,

Perimeter of ΔABC

Hence,

By using similar triangle properties

\frac{AM}{AB} = \frac{AN}{AC} = \frac{MN}{BC}-----------(1)

\frac{AM}{MB} = \frac{AN}{NC}

⇒MB = NC

\frac{1}{2} = \frac{MN}{BC}

⇒BC = 2 MN

Perimeter of ΔABC = AB + BC + AC

                                = 2 AM + 2 AN + 2 MN

                                = 2( AM +AN + MN)

                                = 2( perimeter of ΔAMN )
