  • (4 m + 5 n ) : ( 4 m - 5 n )

      put the value of m and n.

    = ( 4 x 3 + 5 x 2 ):(4 x 3 - 5 x 2 )

    = (12 + 10 )  :(12-10)

     = 22 / 2 = 11

Given:

m : n = 3 : 2

==> m/n =3/2

==>Multiplying both sides by 4/5

==> 4m / 5n = 3/2 * 4/5

==> 4m / 5n = 12 / 10

==> 4m / 5n = 6 /5

We know that by componendo and dividendo:

If  a : b then a + b : a - b

Hence:

==> (4m + 5n) : (4m - 5n ) = ( 6 + 5 ) : (6 -5 )

==>  (4m + 5n) : (4m - 5n ) = 11 : 1

The ratio is 11 : 1

Hope it helps you.
