Given:

m varies directly with n²

To Find:

Find the affect on m , if n is halved .

Solution:

m varies directly with n².

∴ m α n²

introducing the proportionality constant

m=k n²

If n is halved then

m=k(n/2)²

  =(k×n)/4

so m is reduced by 4 times.

Hence by reducing the n by half then m will reduces by four times.
