Steps to recreate the wiped out markings on the thermometer -

• First take some material which have boiling point and freezing point in the range of the taken thermometer. (Eg. Water,0°C-100°C)

• Measure the temperature of boiling water with that thermometer (100°C) and mark the reading as 100°C.

• Similarly, mark out the 0°C by measuring the freezing temperature of the water.

•After getting the lower and upper markings of the thermometer we can geometrically divide the inner gap between upper and lower markings to get a mostly accurate marking range.
