Hey mate
Here is your answer
----------------------------------------------
First you need to know the "LAWS OF CONVERSATION OF ENERGY AND MASS"

Law of conversation of energy says that "Energy can neither be created nor destroyed but it can be converted."

Law of conversation of mass says that "Mass can neither be created nor destroyed but it can be converted."

Similarly energy can be converted into mass and mass can be converted into energy.
But one thing to note here is that Mass and Energy both can never be equal to zero.

And now answer to your question:-

You have asked that,"If mass can be converted to energy than how is it said that energy can't be created."

My friend,
According to the this law energy can neither be created nor destroyed; rather, it can only be transformed or transferred from one form to another. For instance, chemical energy is converted to kinetic energy when a stick of dynamite explodes. If one adds up all the forms of energy that were released in the explosion, such as the kinetic energy and potential energy of the pieces, as well as heat and sound, one will get the exact decrease of chemical energy in the combustion of the dynamite.

Hope it helps
