SOLUTION

GIVEN

Mass is 120 litres , initial temp.is 20°C and after heating final step. is 85°C if specific heat is 4.2 .

TO DETERMINE

The required heat

EVALUATION

Here it is given that

Mass = m = 120 litres

Difference in temperature = t =

= 85°C - 20°C

= 65°C

Specific heat = s = 4.2

Hence the required heat

= mst

 \sf{ = 120 \times 4.2 \times 65 \:  \:KJ }

 \sf{ = 32760 \:  \:KJ }

 \sf{ = 32760 \times 239 \:  \:cal }

 \sf{ = 7829640 \:  \:cal }

 \sf{ = 7829.640 \:  \:kcal }
