If mass is doubled (from 50 to 100 kg) how does that affect friction force?
What is the control variable?

Hi,
As we know that frictional force=(Normal reaction)*coefficient of friction,
When the mass gets doubled from 50kg to 100kg, the normal reaction gets doubled (provided no external force acts on the system) as (50g)*mu becomes (100g)*mu, where 'mu' is the coefficient of friction.
Hope it helps!☺
