kinetic energy becomes half

u can use this formula

K. E. =(1/2)mv^2 ……… (1)

when, m=2m and v=(1/2)v

put in eq. 1

KE*=1/2* 2m*(1/2*v)^2

after solving u get

KE*=(1/2) * K. E.

(here symbol *means multiplication and ^means power)

I hope u got it

Kinetic energy (E) = {dfrac{1}{2}mg^2}

Given,

Velocity is reduced, then {v_2=\dfrac{v_1}{2}}

Mass is increased,

{m_2=2m_1}

Therefore,

Kinetic energy = {\dfrac{1}{2}(2m_1)(v_1/2)}

Kinetic energy = {\dfrac{2m_1*v_1}{4}}

Kinetic energy = {Initial\:kinetic\:energy/2}
