Mean of 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 , p is = p
(Sum of the terms)/number of terms=p
( 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + p ) /6 = p
15 + p = 6p
15 = 6p - p
15 = 5p
15/5 = p
3 = p
Therefore ,
p = 3
