Here's the answer! ^^

We know that,a mean is the average sum of quantities divided by the number of quantities. So in this case,

Given mean=4

Therefore,

Mean=(2)+(a+1)+(a-2)+(-2)/4.....(sum of all quantities/total number of quantities)

Hence,

4=a-1/4

16=a-1

a=16+1

a=17.
