Answer :–

  • Excluded number = 38.

Given :–

  • If mean of five Numbers is 30, and then one of the number is excluded and mean become 28.

To Find :–

  • Find the excluded number ?

Solution :–

Mean =  \dfrac{Sum \: of \: the \: term}{Total \: terms}

Let,

5 excluded numbers be a, b, c, d and e and the total terms is 5.

And the mean is given already in the question is 30.

So,

 \dfrac{a + b + c + d + e}{5} = 30

⟹ a + b + c + d + e = 30 × 5

⟹ 150 ––––––––―–➀

Let, the excluded number be a is 1 and the mean become 28.

 \dfrac{b + c + d + e}{4} = 28

⟹ b + c + d + e = 28 × 4

⟹ 112

Now, put the value of ➀,

⟹ a + 112 = 150

⟹ a = 150 – 112

⟹ a = 38

Hence,

The excluded number is 38.
