Hello Dear!!!
Here's your answer...
The 5 observations are x,x+2,x+4,x+6 and x+8
Mean is 11.
Mean = sum of observations/ number of observations.
11 = x+x+2+x+4+x+6+x+8/ 5
11×5 = x+x+2+x+4+x+6+x+8
55 = 5x+20
55-20 = 5x
35 = 5x
35/5 = x
7 = x
the value of x is 7.

Mean = Sum of observations / No. of observations
Sum = x + x + 2 + x + 4 + x + 6 + x + 8 = 5 x + 20
No. of observations = 5
Mean = (5 x + 20) / 5 = 5(x+4) / 5 = x + 4
So, mean = x + 4
But given mean = 11
So, x + 4 = 11 ⇒ x = 7
Sum = x + x + 2 + x + 4 + x + 6 + x + 8 = 5 x + 20
No. of observations = 5
Mean = (5 x + 20) / 5 = 5(x+4) / 5 = x + 4
So, mean = x + 4
But given mean = 11
So, x + 4 = 11 ⇒ x = 7
