GIVEN :

If median=12, Q_1=6, Q_3=22 then the co-efficient of quartile deviation is

TO FIND :

The value of  the co-efficient of quartile deviation

SOLUTION :

Given that the values are median=12, Q_1=6, Q_3=22

The formula for the co-efficient of quartile deviation  is given by

Co-efficient of quartile deviation =\frac{Q_3-Q_1}{Q_3+Q_1}

Now, substituting the values in the formula we get,

Co-efficient of quartile deviation =\frac{22-6}{22+6}

=\frac{16}{28}

=0.57

∴ the value of the Co-efficient of quartile deviation =0.57
