y = x2

y + x = 66

FROM THE ABOVE EQUATION ,

x2 + x = 66

x2 + x - 66 = 0

(x - 6)( x + 11) = 0

x = 6

THE SON IS 6 YEARS OLD AND THE FATHER IS 36.
