The migratory insertion reaction of a methyl iron dicarbonyl 2 containing the chiral cyclopentadienyl ligand 1 in the presence of triphenylphosphine can proceed with modest diastereoslectivity. The resulting acyl iron complexes 5 are separable and configurationally stable under oxidative conditions.
