It will be less than the value of 11.2 km/s.

This value of escape velocity is for any object which is at Earth’s surface. If any thing go far from the earth surface this escape velocity required decreases as the potential energy of that body decreases going away from the earth surface.

Here moon is much far from earth surface so it will require less velocity than 11.2 km/s to escape the earth gravitation.

If moon is to escape from the gravitational field of earth forever it will require a velocity is 11.2km/s.

  • Velocity is the state of the direction of the object or particle.
  • Velocity is the scalar portion.
  • It is the speed of transition of the distance.
  • The standard unit is m/s.
  • Velocity has both volume and movement.
  • Velocity is the motion of an object or particle.
  • Velocity is also called the rate of displacement.
  • Mass of the quantity is a much-needed thing in the laboratory.
  • The quantity of the substance does the majority of the experiment.
  • Gravity also takes place as an independent factor in calculating mass.
  • Mass is the scalar quantity.
  • Gravity and force are playing the independent factor in the mass.
  • For calculating the two planet mass, know the force of the planet.

Therefore, If moon is to escape from the gravitational field of earth forever it will require a velocity is 11.2km/s.
