Answer:

The Value of MUx= 30

PX=40

therefore.value of py

1 variable vlaue of MUx=30/3=10

...1 variable value of Pc=5/2=2.5

1 variable vlaue of MUy= 40/3=13.34

.. Value of Py

p*y

2.5*13.34

33.35.. will be the answer.of this question..

Given:

MUx=30

Px=5

MUy=40

To find:

The value of Py

Solution:

The value of Py is 6.67.

We can find the value by following the given steps-

We know that Mux/Px=MUy/Px and it means that the value of satisfaction derived by the consumer from good x and y is the same.

So, MUx/Px=MUy/Py

We are given the marginal utility of x, MUx=30 and the price of x, Px=5.

Similarly, the marginal utility of y, MUy=40.

The price of y=Py

On putting the values in the above formula, we get

30/5=40/Py

6=40/Py

6×Py=40

Py=40/6

Py=20/3

Py=6.67

Therefore, the value of Py is 6.67.
