if 'n' AM'S are inserted between 2 and 38 .Then the sum of the resulting series is obtained as 200.then find the value of n​

Given :

The sum of the series = 200

To Find :

The value of n = ?

Solution :

  • The total number of numbers including 2 and 38 is n+2
  • The sum of series can be found by using the formula
  • Sum of series = (n+2)/2 [First term + Last term]

                   200  = (n+2)/2 [2+38]

                   200  = (n+2)/2 [40]

                   200 = 20 (n+2)

                   n+2 = 10

                   n = 8

The value of n is 8
