Given info : If n VSD coincide with (n-1) M.S.D when jaws of standard Vernier caliper are direct method

To find : the zero correction of Vernier caliper is ..

solution : n VSD coincides with (n - 1) MSD

1 VSD = (n - 1)/n MSD = (1 - 1/n) MSD ...(1)

now least count = 1 MSD - 1VSD

from eq (1) we get,

= 1 MSD - (1 - 1/n) MSD

= 1/n MSD

now, zero corrections = 0 ± n × least count

= ± n × 1/n MSD

= ± 1MSD or, ± n/(n - 1) VSD

Therefore the correct choice is option (D) none of these.
