If N1 and N2 are number of turns in primary and secondary coil of a transformer then the ratio of N2/N1 is the transformation ratio.

This transformation ratio stands for the change of voltage or current, that undergoes from the primary winding to the secondary winding. The ratio of voltage V2/V1 is directly proportional to the transformation ratio whereas the ratio of current I2/I1 is inversely proportional to the transformation ratio.
