There were other political leaders who could have taken the responsibility of India and its ministry and cabinet.  

The involvement of Nehru family paved a new chapter of history in Indian political history and that would have created a gap in Indian political history.  

There are many positive outputs of Nehru ministry.

If Nehru family would have not given the power of the chairperson, the gaps could not be there but many positive things would have been missed.
