angle AOC = 90° (Radius is perpendicular at point of contact with tangent) = angle BAC = 65° 25°

length of the tangent AB.

Solution:

Using Pythagoras Theorem, we have

OB^2 = AB^2 + AO^2\\= > 10^2 = AB^2 +8^2\\= > 100 = AB^2 + 64\\= > AB^2 = 100-64\\= > AB^2 = 36\\= > AB = 6\\

Hence, the required value of the tangent AB is 6 cm.
