Step-by-step explanation:

given that,

O={odd no. less than 12}

O={1,3,5,7,9,11}

E={even no. between 7and 17}

E={8,10,12,14,16}

now,

Cardinal number in set O,

n(O)=6

Cardinal number in set E,

n(E)=5

to prove,

n(O)-n(E)=1

proof,

n(O)-n(E)=1

6-5=1

1=1

LHS=RHS
