If oil supplies get exhausted how will this affect our lifestyle and what are the methods to conserve them?

since oil is non renewable source of energy it will get finished soon so it will adversely affect our lifestyle.... to conserve it we must use it in limited quantities becoz once it's over it takes millions of years to be formed again....
