SOLUTION

CORRECT QUESTION

If on a number line, co-ordinates of A and B are - 7 and - 3 respectively then find d(A,B)

EVALUATION

Here it is given that on a number line, co-ordinates of A and B are - 7 and - 3 respectively

Since co-ordinates of A and B are of same sign

So Both lies in same side of the origin

Also - 3 > - 7

Hence the required d (A,B)

 \sf = |B - A|

 \sf = | - 3- ( - 7)|

 \sf = | - 3+ 7|

 \sf = | 4|

 \bf = 4

FINAL ANSWER

d (A,B) = 4
