Answer:

Slower Airplane :

1 hour = 3600 seconds

          = 600 miles

3600 seconds ÷ 12 seconds = 300

600 miles ÷ 300 = 2 miles

This means that the slower airplane can travel 2 miles in 12 seconds.

Faster Airplane :

1 hour = 3600 seconds

          = 720 miles

3600 seconds ÷ 12 seconds = 300

720 miles ÷ 300 = 2.4 miles

2.4 miles - 2 miles = 0.4 miles

Therefore, the faster airplane can travel 0.4 miles more than the slower airplane, in 12 seconds.
