  • If the given coin is a fair/ unbiased coin, then both outcomes are equally probable.

So,

Also,

\:\:\:\:\: P(H) + P(T) = 1

 \to P(T) + P(T) = 1 [Using (1)]

 \to 2P(T) = 1

 \to P(T) = \frac{1} {2}

  • If the coin is biased, P(T) can be any number between 0 and 1.
