If one end of a wire is fixed with a rigid support and the other end is stretched by a force of 10N then the increase in length is 0.5mm. The ratio of the energy of the wire and the work done in displacing it through 1.5mm by the weight is

The work done of strength of a wire is W=1/2Fl
Where, the wire is fixed with a rigid support and the other end is stretched by a Force F= 10
Length l=0.5
According to W=1/2Fl
W=1/2×10×0.5×10{-3}
Therefore W=2.5×10{-3} J
Again the work done in displacing through W=F×l = 5×10{-3}
So the ratio of the energy of the wire and the work done is 1:2
