Hi friend!!

Your question might be as the following polynomial,

x²-6x-16

a = 1 , b = -6 , c = -16

(x+2) is one of the factors of the given polynomial,

x+2 = 0

x = -2

Therefore, -2 is a zero of the polynomial.

Let other zero be x

We know that,

Sum of zeroes = -b/a

-2 + x = -(-6)/1

-2 + x = 6

x = 6+2

x = 8

Therefore, (x-8) is another factor of the given polynomial.

So this is possible only when the given polynomial is x²-6x-16.
