The number is 195.

Explanation:

Let, the number be, 'n'.

1/5 of n = n/5

2/3 of n = 2n/3

∴ The sum = (n/5) + (2n/3)

                 = (3n+10n)/15 [∵ The L.C.M. is 15]

                = 13n/15

According to the problem,

(n-13n/15) = 26

⇒(15n-13n)/15  = 26 [∵ The L.C.M. is 26.]

⇒ 2n/15 = 26

⇒ 2n = 26×15

⇒ n = 390/2

⇒ n = 195

∴ The number is 195.
