X=1
2 +kx-5=0
2+k×1-5=0
2+k-4=0
2-4+k=0
-2= -k
2= k
Therefore value of k is 2

Answer:

k=4

Step-by-step explanation:

as given 1 is the solution of this equation. so it will definitely satisfy the equation. so by putting the value x=1 it will give zero as a solution.

x²+kx-5=0

⇒1²+k*1-5=0

⇒1+k-5=0

⇒k=4

so by putting k=4 the equation will satisfy the solution x=1
