GIVEN :-

In right triangle ABC

AB = 4 feet

BC = 12 feet

TO FIND :- Hypotenuse AC

SOLUTION :-

 {perpendicular}^{2}  +  {base}^{2}  = {hypotenuse}^{2}

[By pythagoras Theorem]

AC =

 \sqrt{{4}^{2}  +  {12}^{2} } \\  \\  =  \sqrt{16 + 144}  \\  \\  =  \sqrt{160}  \\  \\  =  \boxed {12.65}

THEREFORE, the hypotenuse is 12.65 feet.
