Given :

points :- (1,2) and (5,10)

To find :

  • Slope gradient

Formula used :

If two points are given :- (a,b) and (c,d) Then slope gradient (m) is given as :-

 \bf  m =  \dfrac{d - b}{c - a}

Solution :

points = (1,2) and (5,10)

let , (1,2) be (a,b) and (5,10) be (c,d)

We know :-

 \implies\sf  m =  \dfrac{d - b}{c - a}

Now put :-

d = 10

b = 2

c = 5

a = 1

 \implies\sf  m =  \dfrac{10 - 2}{5 - 1}

 \implies\sf  m =  \dfrac{8}{4}

\implies\sf  m =  \dfrac{ \cancel8 \:  \: 2}{ \cancel4 \:  \: 1}

\implies\sf  m =  2

Answer :

Given ,

The line passing through the points (1,2) and (5,10)

We know that , the slope of the line is given by

 \boxed{ \tt{Slope \:  (m) =  \frac{ y_{2} -  y_{1} }{x_{2} -  x_{1}}  }}

Thus ,

m = (10 - 2)/(5 - 1)

m = 8/4

m = 2

Therefore , the slope of the line is 2
