if one mole of carbon atoms
weighs 12 grams what is the
mass (in grams) of I atom of carbon
Which has more number of
atoms, 100 grams of sodium or
100 grams of iron given atomic
mass of Na= 23 Fe=56 u

  1. Explanation:

1mol = 6.022 \times  {10}^{23} atoms \\ 1mol = 12g \\ 6.022 \times  {10}^{23} atoms = 12g \\  \\ for \: 1atom =  \frac{12}{6.022 \times 10^{23} } \\  = 2 \times 10 {}^{ - 23}  g(approx)

2. Case

The species having more no of mole will have more no of atoms..

mol =  \frac{given \: mass}{molar \: mass}  \\  \\ for \: sodium =  \frac{100}{23}  = 4.34mol  \\ atoms = 4.34 \times n\\  \\ for \: iron \:  =  \frac{100}{56}  = 1.78mol \\ atoms = 1.78 \times n \\  \\ n = avagadro \: number

So sodium(Na)has more no of atoms..

Hope this helps.
