Given :

  • Mass of 1 mole of Oxygen = 16g
  • mass of 1 atom of oxygen = ???

To Find :

The mass of 1 atom of oxygen

We know that :

  • Avagadro Constant = 6.022×10²³
  • 1 mole = atom mass × Avagadro Constant
  • atom = 1 mole/avadro Constant

Solution :

Given, mole mass = 16 g

atom mass = ??

Avagadro Constant = 6.022×10²³

so, Atomic mass = 16g/6.022×10²³

or, Atomic mass = 2.65×10-²³ g

so, Atomic mass of Oxygen = 16u
