Hii mate...

Step-by-step explanation:

Given That : the sum of two number is 96 and one is thrice to other

so let the number be 'x'

so according to Question the second number will be '3x'

Now,

x + 3x = 96

4x = 96

x = 96/4

x = 24

Second number = 24×3= 72

More Questions like this

1. The sum of the digit of a 2- digit number is 11 the number obtained by interchanging the digits exceeds the original number by 27 find the number

Solution :

Let the unit place digit be x

So , ten's place digit = (11 - x)

Original number = x+10(11-x)= x +110-10x= -9x +110

New number obtained by reserving the digits =

10x + 11 - x = 9x +11

A.T.Q

= (9x + 11) - (-9x + 110) = 27

= 9x + 11+9x -110 = 27

= 18x - 99 = 27

= 18x = 99+27

= 18x= 126

= x = 7

therefore,

Unit place digit = 7 and Ten's place digit= 11-7

Hence the required number = 7 + 4 × 10 = 47

2. The sum of three consecutive multiple of 7 is 777 Find these multiples

Solution :

Let the three consecutive multiple of 7 be x , x+7 and x+14

So,

= x + x + 7 + x + 14 = 777

= 3x + 21 = 777

= 3x = 777 -21

= 3x = 756

= x = 756/3 = 252

Hence the required multiples are 252,252+7= 259+7=266

Facts that matter

• An algebraic equation is an equality involving variables Here we will deal with the equations having only one variable eg. 3x +5 = x+3

• The algebraic equations with one variable are called as linear equations

Answer:

24 & 72

Step-by-step explanation:

let the first number be x

so second number = 3x

given

x + 3x = 96

=> 4x = 96

=> x = 96/4 = 24

so first number = 24

&

second number = 3 × 24 = 72

& difference = 48

=> 72 - 24 = 48 Satisfies
