The complementary angles are 81° and 9°.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let one of the complementary angle = x

∴ Other of the complementary angle = x^2

To find, the complementary angles = ?

We know that,

The sum of the complementary angles = 90°

x^2 + x = 90°

x^2 + x - 90 = 0

x^2 + 10x - 9x - 90 = 0

⇒ x(x + 10) - 9(x + 10) = 0

⇒ (x - 9)(x + 10) = 0

⇒ x - 9 = 0 or, x + 10 = 0

⇒ x = 9 ∴ or, x = - 10 [ ∵  - 10 is not possible]

∴  x = 9°

Other of the complementary angle = 9^{2} = 81°

Thus, the complementary angles are 81° and 9°.
