SOLUTION :

Option (a) is correct : 3

Let α be the one root  of the equation and β be the other root .

Given : x² + ax + 3 = 0 , α = 1

On comparing the given equation with ax² + bx + c = 0

Here, a = 1 , b = a , c = 3

Product of zeroes = c/a

α × β = c/a

1×  β = 3/1

β = 3

Hence, the other root of  the equation is β = 3 .
