4^2-7(4)+k=0

16-28=-k

-12=-k

Let the other root be x

therefore

4 + x = sum of zeroes = -b/a =7/1

therefore

x =7-4 =3

therefore

x*4 = 3*4 = product of zeroes = c/a

therefore,

12 =k/1

Therefore k = 12
