answer

 {x}^{2}  - 3x - p = 0

Putting x = 5 in given equation,

 {5}^{2}  - 3(5) - p = 0

25 - 15 - p = 0

 - p =  - 10

p \:  \:  =  \:  \: 10

Therefore p = 10.

\huge\underline\mathbb\red{Solution}

 {x}^{2}  - 3x - p = 0 \\ Now \: putting \: the \: value \:of \: x =5,\: we \: get  \\  {5}^{2}  - 3(5) - p = 0 \\  =  > 25 - 15 - p = 0 \\  =  >  10 - p = 0 \\  =  >  - p =  - 10 \\ p = 10

The \: required \: value \: of \: p \: is \: 10
