let the the larger complementary angle be X degrees

smaller complementary angle = x-18 degrees

sum of any two complementary angles = 90 degrees

so, according to problem

x+x-18=90

2x-18=90

2x=90+18

2x=108

x=108/2

×=54 degrees

so larger complementary angle= 54 degrees

smaller complementary angle = 54-18

=36 degrees
