       αβ + βγ + γα = q         ________②

       αβγ = -r

        α = -1

from equation ①

                              -1 + β + γ = -p

                              β + γ = 1 - p

from equation ②

                             -β + βγ + (-γ) = q

Adding equation ① & ②

                               β + γ = 1 - p

                             -β + βγ + (-γ) = q  

                            βγ = q - p + 1
